Dr. Sarang Patil is a renowned AYUSH medical doctor, health educator, yoga coach, published author, and co-founder of the health education platform “Sampurna Swasthya,” a popular initiative of ‘Happy Thoughts,’ Pune.
With a vast and diverse expertise in alternative and complementary medicine, he is highly regarded for integrating evidence-based therapies in managing stress-related, psychosomatic, autoimmune, and lifestyle diseases.
Dr. Patil received his medical degree in 1995 from SDM College and Hospital of Yoga and Naturopathy, Mangalore University, becoming Maharashtra’s first medical doctor with this qualification.
He then pursued post-graduation and completed his Ph.D. at Swami Vivekananda Yoga University in Bangalore, under the guidance of Dr. Sherly Telles and Dr. H.R. Nagendra. His doctoral research focused on Cyclic Meditation (CM), a unique yogic technique for managing psychosomatic diseases and stress. His findings on CM, supported by five original research papers published in international medical journals, have made CM a recognized therapeutic tool.
Dr. Patil has also shown through his research and clinical practice that yogic lifestyle interventions can reverse many non-communicable diseases, including malignancies.
His commitment to advancing integrative treatment programs for modern-day diseases is evident in his work at Anandkunj, a 100-bedded Yoga and Naturopathy Hospital, where he serves as Medical Director. He is keen on establishing a research facility to validate integrative treatments through randomized controlled trials.
A member of professional bodies like APPI and INYGMA, Dr. Patil has contributed significantly to yoga and naturopathy research. He has served as a Research Fellow at Swami Vivekananda Yoga University and as a Professor at Ganga Ayurvedic Medical College, Kolhapur. Currently, he contributes to policy making as a governing body member of the National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN), Pune, under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India.
